I want a toilet seat that doesn't slip about !

Basically I will start by explaining the problem , we have the cheap white bathroom suite from Wickes and the toilet has the 2 standard holes for the seat fixings to go through . However I am on my 4th toilet seat in a year as after a little while the seat starts to slip sideways and once it does that no matter how hard you tighten everything up it just keeps slipping . I think that part of the problem lies with my 7 rd old who uses the seat as a step up to the windowsill to get her toothbrush etc but I am basically after a seat with thick fixings that will fill the holes in the toilet , does that make sense

Thanks
Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !

Funy isnt it we had the same problem, Homebase sell a plastic seat for £9.99 and part of the fitting kit are sticky pads, had ours in for 6 months now and it shows no sign of wobbling whatsoever :j

We have the same problem...and yes...we have kids in our house too :D

we got some small plastic things that screw onto the underside of the seat, and just rest inside the toilet bowl from kleeneze. They were only a couple of £'s & they totally stopped the seat sliding about. I don't have a catalogue to hand, so I can't remember what they are called.
  • Hi, we used to have this problem, until we bought a Bemis toilet seat from b&q. they weren't expensive either

You could always put something around the threaded part (i.e insulating tape) to increase the diameter to make a tighter fit inside the hole in the toilet.I've used several layers of heatshrink sleeving.(from Maplins)
