How does ppi work with ex partners

Options
Hi
I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if I have a complaint against lloyds bank. My ex took out a ppi complaint without my knowledge
or consent, I had no idea as he was hoping to have it all to himself untill they told him he couldn't. My question is should I have been  informed as I was the primary account holder and added my ex at a later date. And what do I do or complain to.

No. They will have upheld his complaint and awarded him his redress.

If you contact the bank, they will send you your redress, assuming a complaint was upheld against the policy in its entirety, which is likely.  With joint loans, there is no primary account holder, just equal parties.

As above, I put a claim in for a joint mortgage with Northern Rock, I got my half of the PPI redress a few years back. I haven't spoken to ex in 14 years.

If you were the main account holder then some banks won't let the secondary person complain (there is a thread on the reclaim pages about this from this week). The question is, did he try and complain and bank told him to go away (in which case, it's not really a concern) or did they pay out 50% in which case, get your 50%.

If you just want to complain that they got a PPI complaint from the ex and rejected it, then what do you want to complain about? Them not telling you? They might give you "go away" money like a token £25 but I can't see any reason for them to do so.

If they paid out the 50% then you could well complain that they shouldn't have accepted it (particularly if you wanted the policy!) but again, I can't imagine they would have done much wrong - it's not impossible he forged your signature or something
