Hello everyone , need urgent advice , me and my partner are both going through getting an AIP at the moment , hsbc refused to give us an AIP due to our age ( we are both 20 ) , I’m a gas engineer and earn £45000 a year and my partner is self employed but due to the fact that we have to apply with her latest tax year earning it’s only £10000 for her so £55000 together. Our broker has said that they will try and get one with accord , but all I’m wondering is are accord willing to lend to young people like us for the amount we need to borrow ( we have £27000 deposit and hoping to buy a property for £270000 so 90% LTV , so would need to lend £243000 which is under 4.5X our wage ) . Our credit scores are all good and we have a joint monthly outgoings of £450. Any help would be much appreciated !

What was the reason for decline at HSBC? They lend to clients over 18 so the age thing is unlikely to be the actual reason
Accord are equally happy to lend to anyone over 18. But if the age thing was a misdirect with HSBC then its impossible to say if you will have more luck with Accord0 -

Accord are good. They are quick as well. New system aips only take about 20 minutes to key. Maybe 2 hours to come back of it refers for a decision. On application they are taking only a day or 2 to underwrite.
Not sure if they are more likely to lend than hsbc as there is no way of me knowing the reason for the decline and then to comment if accord are more lenient on that aspect.
You should know quite quickly though1
