Pension Bee is a consolidator (i.e. accepts transfers in from other schemes). As they say on their website, they can't trace a pension without any details.

If you're trying to find a missing/lost pension, try https://www.gov.uk/find-pension-contact-details

Are you sure your husband actually has a pension? If you could give his approximate dates of employment/scheme membership, and the name of the scheme or employer, somewhere here might be able to help.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
  • thank you problem is the company closed and we cant recall who the pension was with but look look into thank you

I have a PensionBee pension- I find them very good and easy to use. They transferred some old small pensions into my one pot with them. If you look on the referral page there are links for PensionBee referrals and you get an extra £50 if use someone’s link

As Marcon said, if you could name the closed company, and his dates of employment, someone here may be able to point you in the right direction.

    Based on a search here:
    https://www.findpensioncontacts.service.gov.uk/employer/641922
The name of the scheme is "Sit - Bray Limited Retirement And Death Benefit Plan"
It appears it has been transferred to the Pension Protection Fund:
    https://www.ppf.co.uk/schemes/search
(Searching for "Sit - Bray" the status shows as "transferred")

You can find out more on what this means here:

Bray Burners Limited has been renamed Bray Technologies Limited and renamed Sit-Bray Limited which eventually become Sit Controls (UK) Limited. Their annual reports back in 2003 say that it operates a DB pension scheme. The company itself was liquidated in 2014. Might be worth getting in touch with their Louis Brittain at Gladstone House, 77-79 High Street, Egham, Surrey, TW20 9HY.

EDIT 1: I looked more into this and I noticed that Liquidators issued their Liquidators' statement of receipts and payments report, SIT - Bray Limited Retirement and Death Benefit Plan was mentioned. (And reading the whole damn thing which are on 49 pages on its sides), it did mention that SIT - Bray Limited Retirement and Death Benefit Plan applied for PPF but got rejected for legal reason and they did it again and was agreed to go into the assessment period.

So... check with PPF?  :D Bear in mind that pre-1997 service which is in your case will not increase due to inflation and there will be 10% cut on the pension. Still, better than nothing!

I am pretty proud that I managed to find this information on the Companies House website!  :D

EDIT 2: I checked the name on PPF website and it is on their list of schemes which was transferred over to PPF in 2015 aka under the name of Sit - Bray Limited Retirement And Death Benefit Plan.

Success! I hope that helps you and your husband out! rubble70

EDIT 3: *sighs* I see kuratowski got back to you and in a quicker way! :)
