Do I have a drink problem?

Hi Ernie, I've just come across your thread and read it with great interest. I used to drink, and the plan was always that I'd stop after two glasses of wine in the evening with my evening meal - I only drank during the day at weddings and Christmas, and drank a lot less than some people I socialise with. I rarely managed to stick to the plan. I stopped drinking for 20 days once and found myself going back to quaffing the same amount within a couple of days of starting again because I couldn't resist a glass of red wine with pizza one Saturday. I had a problem with booze, but drank nowhere near as much as some people who say they don't. In the end, it's probably a personal thing up to a certain level of consumption.Only you (or those you live with, or are close to) can know if you and booze are a tricky combination but there's a general rule of thumb which says if you think you have a problem with booze, you probably do. I'm glad to see Maman's post just above suggesting the Cutting Down/Giving Up thread which I found incredibly useful when I decided that things had to change. It is, without doubt, the most supportive and the least judgemental group I've ever come across.Whatever choice you make, good luck with it.
Better is good enough.1
