I visited Currys on Friday and looked at a Macbook Pro. The units were stuck fast to the display unit so I could not remove them to judge how much it weighs. I ended up purchasing one. When I got it out of the box it was clearly heavier than I thought and wasn't going to work for me. Felt stupid and took it back to the store. I tried to argue that as I could not assess the unit properly (when I asked they just said they could not let me pick one up) then I should receive a refund. The manager refused. Should I pursue this or just accept that I have been stupid?!

Strictly speaking, as this is a change of mind (i.e. no fault exists) and you bought in store, they are within their rights to refuse a refund.
Surely picking up the boxed MacBook would have given you a clue before finalising the sale?5 -
Or looking up the weight online and finding something roughly similar in weight to compare it to.TadleyBaggie said:Strictly speaking, as this is a change of mind (i.e. no fault exists) and you bought in store, they are within their rights to refuse a refund.

A pretty poor excuse tbh, a small cardboard box weighs very little and the weight of the item was apparent and not very difficult to work out soon as you picked it up. I would assume the weight is also on the box somewhere.0

How heavy did you think it was .Most people that buy a Mac do research first .0
