The mortgage process and when to start....

Hi,
I am currently renting and is up for renewal next February. We are looking to buy a house with a move around that time if we are lucky. I have two questions:
1. Is the process buying to: AIP>>find house>>Offer accepted>>Mortgage application?
2. We plan to look at houses probably October time. When should we seek to get an AIP?
Thank you

1. Yes
2. Before you look at houses. So September /October. Aip is only valid for the day so the longer you leave it then the greater chance of it being different when you buy. Also i generally only aip clients if EA needs a copy. Rates change daily so why commit to a lender until you have to.1
