Senior Underwriter Coventry

Hi
my mortgage got approved by Coventry building society on Monday and we got told we would have an offer by Friday. Today our broker chased it up and it turns out our case is now with a senior underwriter? We were under the understanding it had already been approved! Why would they put it back with the senior underwriter? Is this something to worry about?

I would wait for final sign off, it could have been pulled for audit/compliance reasons or double checking.  If you get declined you can try and get feedback from the broker.

  • Thank you for your reply. It’s already been “approved” as it were, they are meant to issuing an offer but now it’s gone to a senior underwriter so do you think it can now get declined?
