Preparing to go to war with Evans Cycles.....

I've been buying a cycle from Evans Cycles through my company's cycletowork scheme and, in a nutshell, it's been an unmitigated disaster.
I ordered a Raleigh Motus Evans Exclusive 2021 Electric Hybrid Bike from them on the 28th of May. I received no communication about when it was to be delivered. So I was at work when they attempted to give me my bike the first time (Thursday 3rd June). I asked them to reschedule as I'd been given no advance warning of the delivery at all.
They agreed and then said they'd deliver it the next day (Friday 4th June). Soon after this, I received an odd call from someone purporting to be from the warehouse telling me that they didn't like having bikes hanging around in the warehouse as they "tended to go missing".
Friday came and went. No delivery.
The entirety of Saturday (5th June) was spent trying to contact Evans' customer service via facebook but I got no response.
I got a response on Sunday (6th June) which was little more than "yeah, we need to wait for the warehouse to respond".
Monday (7th June) rolled round and I was eventually assured that my bike would be delivered by the end of the day.
It wasn't delivered at all.

After chasing this AGAIN on Tuesday (8th June), I was eventually told, at the end of the day, that they were going to have to search the warehouse for my bike and that this might take "a few days". To be honest, after the phone call I received on the previous Thursday, I'm not at all certain that it's in the warehouse - more than likely it'll be on ebay now.

The delivery of the accessories was little better, two packages were just left outside the block of flats I live in where anyone could have just taken them.  Fortunately they were still there when I received the message that they'd been left "in a safe place", it took some time to find them as there was no indication where they'd been left!
In short, I am really unhappy with the way this has been handled. The lying to me about attempted deliveries on Friday and Monday is totally unacceptable.

I'm aware that they have 30 days to deliver but how is this affected by the attempted delivery on the 3rd of June? Does it reset after that? It's worth repeating that I had had no notification of when they were going to attempt delivery.
Sorry, this has turned into a bit of a ramble!

  • They need to deliver something for sure but no-one at Evans is just randomly picking out bikes from stock to sell on ebay - just a busy warehouse due to the crazy demand they have at the moment, I'm more impressed they even had stock.

Send them a formal complaint in writing, they might give you some free stuff

You should be able to arrange to collect it from a store, too. They are owned by Sports Direct so I believe that gives you a voucher.

But given they are owned by Sports Direct, the warehouse is busy and chaotic.

I doubt the bike has been stolen and is on eBay - it's still Evans' property until you get it, it's just going to be sat in a delivery van on a loading bay and that could take a while to find, because the warehouse is huge and chaotic.

Have you tried phoning a store? The staff there tend to be more helpful than facebook customer service.
