    Where do I stand?
On the horns of a dilemma.

Do you have to be in close proximity to manage the other individuals? I tend to check in with my manager every couple of weeks for a catch-up or more frequently if something needs attn.

Do you feel there is an agenda at play here and it's to your detriment? Whats the relationship with your line manager like?

Theres no employment law that prevents them asking you to work in a different part of the same office. Present your reasoning to your manager but ultimately it's a reasonable request and if you refuse they could decide to take disciplinary action.

This is a situation where having a good understanding of the pecking order, the stakeholders and motivations is essential

Who is behind the change and why
If it is not you boss and they are just the messenger then who and will your boss back you or toe the line.

    Who benefits from you moving.
    Does someone want you out.

Who are the stakeholders for the work you do, you office manager role and the other stuff you have picked up
    Which has the power.
What happens if you are to busy to do the stuff you picked up and have to let it slide or come second/late

one issue you will have is if you have been doing all this other work and still do your old job then someone may have spotted you were under worked before and making adjustments.
