Hi,
Ours neighbours havent lived in there house for 20+ years everything is over grown, we get all pests and trees, weeds all in our property. The neighbour on the other side said he gets some kind of coucil rate tax reduction. The coucil know about how bad the property is and have been taking the neighbour to court and he lost (thats how bad it is)
Is that true as I cant find anything on the internet about getting rates reduced?

It's possible your neighbour gets single person discount or other reduction due to income / benefits. I'm not aware of any discount because a neighbouring property is neglected.
@CIS are you aware of anythingMortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
It is most unlikely that you would get a CT band reduction because of the state of the neighbouring property. When I worked in the VOA the phrase we used was "the remedy lies elsewhere"If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1

Ask your neighbour exactly what discount he gets.0
