Child Maintenance

Hi,
At what age does Child Maintenance stop?
If it is being collected by CMS automatically, will they stop it when it's due to be stopped automatically?
I'm trying to find out for a relative.
Child is now 16 years old, will be 17 later this year.
Payments are still being made and collected, however the Child is not in any higher education, and is believed to have finished school, as the school to which it was at until 16 only accommodated 16 years old at oldest.
The person claiming the cms is unlikely and the type of person to inform anyone she's still getting the money.
Any advice thanks

If they have proof the child is no longer in full time non advanced education then the relative should contact CMS. Is it possible they maybe at college? If they live in England they must either remain in full time education (college) start an apprenticeship or traineeship until they are 18. https://www.gov.uk/know-when-you-can-leave-school

If they believe the child is no longer in full time education etc as poster above has said then the parent should query with CMS as a possible change of circumstances and they will investigate0
