What happens if you overpay your flexible mortgage savings pot beyond the facility amount?

I have a Santander flexible mortgage with 9 years left to run.
My savings pot which offsets the interest payments is almost close to being the value of the mortgage facility figure itself.
Of course, I want to keep this mortgage for the duration as due to the offset I'm paying tiny interest payments but the option of having that money to hand is nice.
Firstly, out of interest, what would actually happen if I accidently paid more into the savings pot than the facility itself?
Could they take the cash and say mortgage now paid off, you can no longer use this facility?
I'm paying 0.5% over the BOE on a few grand, so I'm not exactly making them much money.

I've used a fully offset mortgage in the past (not Santander) and they did not just close the mortgage account, that's not how it's supposed to work.
I highly doubt Santander would/could do as you fear but perhaps best to ask them.1 -
Out of interest, what happened in your case when you paid more into the savings pot than the actual loan amount?0

Nothing, it just sat there doing me no good until I noticed and moved it.1

depends on lender what happens when you get to 100%+ offset, I think most these days jus net to Zero so no interest charges
There was a time past when some paid the mortgage rate on the excess but that did not last long.
if the lender allows the mortgage payment to come out of an offsetting account it gets easier because you just let them keep balance if not its juggle money time1
