My father in-law has worked in Dubai for 20 years, only returning to this country for 90 days each year. He has residency out there. He is retiring in November this year and needs to find someone to give him advice on how to bring back/access his money that he has in accounts in Dubai. He has 100k plus in accounts and also will have another 110k coming to him as an end of term benefit.
I have been told that there are specialist accountants/advisors that deal with these sorts of situations but I cant find any through Google.
Does anybody know if this is true or where to find a decent advisor that can help?
Thanks

Yes, my OH is one of them! However I can't make personal recommendations.
He works for a big 4 accountancy firm. Depending on what other funds your FIL has, his wealth may actually be on the low side to go to the big 4. Have a look at top 10 firms instead, but please understand you'd be paying much more than your average high street accountant.Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard2 -
I agree with poster above. You really need to look at the big accountancy practices - the top 4/top 10 will have offices in Dubai and the UK, so they'll have in-house experts for each jurisdiction who can easily consult eachother to look at the consequences for both countries. There will be a few smaller firms/sole traders who will be specialist in Dubai/UK tax matters but they'll be hard to find as it's very niche - probably a UK accountant who's moved out to Dubai themselves!1

Agree with above. I used to work for one of the ‘big four’ and, generally, rather than have employees who had a broad knowledge of taxation, they tended to have them specialise in specific areas. For example, I specialised on partnerships. I had a colleague who spent all of his time on capital allowances. They definitely will have an ‘ex-pat’ section.1
