I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but seemed to fit here so here goes.
I bought some smartprice yorkshire puddings with my online groceries but noticed prior to cooking that there was a small slug in one of them. I emailed CS but have not had a reply. This was about a month and a half ago. I have kept the packaging and refroze the slug in my husbands fishing bait freezer. I have shopped with tesco since.
I think i should just leave it for the sake of a 34p refund but my H said to ask you guys (and girls) what you think as this shouldn't have happened by accident. not like it could in a lettuce or similar.
so any ideas?
Thanks

i'd write again and say i have already written/emiled about this and this time i would like a response, say something along the lines of 'i might expect to find a slug in an item that was grown outdoors but a yorkshire pudding would have come from a factory of some sort. What are you goingt to do to make sure this doesnt happen again?'
At least they might reply, good luck, i always complain.0 -
A month and a half ago... forget about it... if you had taken it back into CS when you found it you may have got it "investigated" and maybe received a few pounds worth of vouchers... but not now... :rolleyes:0

Hi there,
I think you need to write to them because they should not let stuff like this happen - it's disgusting! This isn't just about getting your money back and some compensation, its about letting them know that their health and safety (or lack thereof) is a problem.
I always find the best way to get a response is to write a letter as opposed to an email. Although this does take time and effort they are more likely to respond because they can see you've put in time and effort and are therefore serious. Include a photograph of slug (eugh, can't believe I just typed that) and packaging. Include the fact that you sent an email (and the date it was sent) and that you haven't yet recieved a reply. End by saying that if you don't hear from them within 14 days (a standard time for recieving your letter and replying) you will contact the proper authorities i.e. health and safety!
If you've not done any complain letters before there is a thread on the Discounts and Vouchers board, I believe ("Complaint Letter Successes").
Best of luck,

Hello,
Why don't you phone your local environment health dept and let them know or at least write one more e-mail and threaten that if you do not hear from them within 3 days then you will contact env health or the local newspaper!
If they don't respond then they deserve the consequences!
