Porting a Barclays mortgage

Has anyone done this, and is it relatively straightforward?

I have four years left on my fixed term, so will need to try and port my Barclays mortgage (which only completed the beginning of January this year) to move house. 

I can see from my previous offer that I only have a three month window in which to redeem this mortgage and take out another, so that probably eliminates my original idea of selling and renting for six months. 

Has anyone else been able to port so soon into an existing mortgage? I would imagine by the time I actually find something to buy, I will be over six months into this mortgage so hopefully less of an issue under CML 5.1.1 (although that’s more an issue with the sale than my mortgage).

It's the same as any other Barclays mortgage application. Potentially simple to incredibly frustrating. It's a lottery which you'll get. The port is only part of the product selection process so adds little to the process.
