My son has had a parking fine which happened before lockdown he stayed over the time allocated. We have sent proof by screen shooting his bank statement showing he was actually eating with friends but they are now sending court papers from HM courts and tribunals service what do I do?

Was this a council or police fine/penalty? If so, you would be better taking this over to our friends on pepipoo.com as they are the council/police motoring experts. You will need to register there with a non-hotmail email address.
If it is a parking charge notice from an unregulated parking scammer, then please read the sticky thread for NEWBIES and then tell us the name of the parking scammer, where this alleged event occurred, and what action has been taken so far.I married my cousin. PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

And if the county court is involved, your son has to be involved too. You cannot deal with this for him, but you can help him to do so.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

There are a few things going on here, that could potentialy cause the original poster bookd to well and truly shoot himself/herself in the foot..First of all you should never give any hint as to whom the driver was never use terms such as I, He, She, Partner, Husband, Uncle, Aunt, Brother, Sister, Son, Daughter to describe the driverNext, if this parking charge notice was issued by a private company, at a KFC car park it is not a fine, unless its form the council and its a council owned/run car park.Next you said "they" have sent court papers, who are this They? its important to know what entity we are dealing withWho is the registered keeper of the vehicle, is it you or your Son?? again this is important. If you (Bookd) are not the registered keeper its critical that the registered keeper posts this first hand, otherwise it can turn into a game of chineese whispers at a time when detail and wording are absolutely critical, things such as understanding the difference between a fine ( or Penalty charge notice - PCN) and a private parking charge ( parking charge notice - PCN) are importantIf you son is the registered keeper, then he may not have been the driver on the day - it is important not to attempt to name an individual as the driver on that day.I'm Guessing that your Son, if the registered keeper will be at an age where paying the amount owed ( always a bad option) would be financially difficult, likewise having a credit file wrecked for 6 years would also be a very bad option, if 18 years old then that would cause difficulty in getting credit for things such as cars, phone contracts, loans, etc etc.If you son is the RK then he needs to post, if you are the RK then you need to say so, but for realistic help we need the right information form the right people, without you giving out the wrongi nfo or trying to guess the drivers IDFrom the Plain Language Commission:
