I have a couple of pairs from glasses direct that are absolutely fine. Basic design, but almost identical to a basic design from vision express that cost me five times as much.

Thanks.  Think I'll give them a try.  Not a lot to give it a go.

Yep, worthwhile.  I had to buy some as my glasses broke just in time for lockdown, and I've been shielding pretty much the whole time (and still waiting for my vaccine as I was left off the priority list *grumble*).  I was pleasantly surprised and next time I would probably the extra money for a couple of upgrades because the frames are just as good as anything I could get from the usual high street names, but for a fraction of the price.

I was a little sceptical but decided to try Glasses Direct, they were really good., well worth looking on their web site.
I will definitely use again and have recommended the site to friends and family.

One thing that puts me off going online for glasses is the lack of adjustment of arms and nose pieces. As when I go to the opticians to collect glasses, the optical assistant has to spend an age adjusting the glasses' arms - the left one esp from looking at them when I'm not wearing them. There's nothing worse than wearing glasses with an arm digging at the side of head all day.
