Hi applied for this job last August where I have been on reserve list since, today received email saying;

"Congratulations you have been successful at interview.

We will be in contact shortly with more information about the next steps."

Already passed all competencies and interviews hence being on reserve list so what does the above message actually mean?

What it says: 'We will be in contact shortly with more information about the next steps.'

Well done!

It suggests that more vacancies have become available and you are one of those from the reserve list likely to be offered a job.  I wouldn't put it any firmer than that until you see the follow up contact.

Current Civil Servant here to advise you that this *maybe* NOT a quick process as Civil Service recruitment can be slow.
Congratulations also on getting a job !.

The process was incredibly slow long before the Covid days.  I had an interview in the March and heard nothing at all until June when I was offered a job.

I had applied for a role early May and still waiting to hear back if I've been successful. Completed the online application, passed the online test, and also had the final interview. Considering the advert said they want applicants to start in June - I'm still waiting to hear back!

Thanks for the responses guys, I have been asked to resubmit my ID documents because after 3 months they had to delete them because of GDPR.

I have submitted them today.

Not sure what is the next step, hopefully give me a start date.

Im guessing you’ll also have to go through the appropriate vetting for the grade you applied for and that can take a wee while to complete too.

Yeah a bit annoying how long it takes.
Have got other interviews lined up elsewhere so if this job does not start anytime soon will have to withdraw from the process.
