Covid WFH tax relief - what happens once back to office?

Hello,
I have applied to claim the tax relief for WFH as I am still required to do so by my employer. This will happen at least until June 2021, and probably we won't be fully back until September. I know I am eligible at the moment, but what happens once we're fully back to the office? I could not find a way to specify when did I would stop working from home, the form just said I was claiming for the full tax year.

I am worried something may happen, as I would have worked from home for only 3-5 months of the full year. Is there any way to claim only for the days I've actually worked from home?
Is anyone having similar doubts? Or answers to this? :-)

  • If it’s applicable for just one day you can claim the allowance for the whole year. Nothing for you to worry about therefore.

Many thanks for the reply! So if I have worked from home for a single day of the whole tax year I am entitled to a ~£60 tax relief on expenses? The heating for that single day must be damn expensive then!  :D

Yes - I imagine that, when the legislation came out, HMRC did not want to be apportioning claims for days, weeks or months and decided on the all or nothing approach.

Thank you very much @purdpurdyoaten2! Do you know if there any official document indicating one day is enough? I found some online articles but nothing official.
