Bankruptcy and new energy supplier

Hi I was declared BR on 28th February. I currently pay for my energy with a monthly direct debit I have never been in debt to the company. They have put their prices up for the second time this year so I want to switch suppliers.
Will I have trouble getting a direct debit with a new energy supplier?
I don't want a pre payment meter as I had one in my last place and it was a nightmare.
Thanks in advance

Hi when I switched to Shell while BR was still showing they asked for a deposit of £300 until 3 direct debits had gone through. The £300 was refunded immediately without asking.
No idea about other suppliers1 -

I went with British Gas after my BR and they wanted £350 deposit and they kept it for a year. That was around 2013 so things might have changed.BR 14/08/2011 didn’t learn my lesson 😬
