Can I port mortgage and add husband?

We are looking to move house but in Jan I locked into a 5 year deal with Halifax as I was convinced we wouldn’t be moving anytime soon. The house was mine before I met then married my husband so has just continued in my name whenever I’ve took a new deal.
So my question is can I port the mortgage to the new house (plus some additional borrowing) and add him to the mortgage, or just take the early redemption charges on the chin and start a new application? Thanks for any help 😀

Only Halifax can answer that question and it depends on your income and your husbands, credit history, deposit/equity and how much you earn compared to how much you want to borrow.
Depending on Interest rates and ERC,s you might be better off taking the bit and remortgage to a new lender.
Do you use a mortgage broker.0
