Joint mortgage after split

Hi all, I’m just after any advice please. I have a mortgage with my ex husband where I live with our daughter. I pay the mortgage and he doesn’t want anything to do with the house however because I work part time and due to “affordability” I can’t get his name off the mortgage. I have some previous debt in my name (from when he lived here!) I’m slowly paying it off and trying to improve my credit rating. What my question is while I am and have been for years paying the mortgage is there any contract I can get drawn up to say what year etc I was paying it from or can anyone suggest how I can get his name off? My sister who is in a much better financial situation than me would be happy to put her name on instead of him but I would hate any of my previous debts to affect her credit rating should be become financially tied? I hope I’m making sense. Just to add he wouldn’t want buying out. Any advice would be appreciated.

@lceshe To get his name off of the mortgage, you (or the applicants) will need to satisfy lender affordability requirements. You could potentially consider using a joint-borrower sole-propreiter product where your sister's income gets you over the affordability requirements but she doesn't come on the deeds. She will be equally responsible for the mortgage but you can continue making the payments as you have been.
