    Hi,
The month I have turned 18 I got a 12k car finance through Arnold Clark myself. Mistake, I went back 4 months later to buy a BMW, because why not.  That was the first sort of credit I’ve ever had. Afterwards, I have started with credit building cards. At one point I had 5.
At 19 I’ve moved to “prime cards” such as Virgin, Barclaycard and Amex. Only kept one credit builder as being the longest credit card agreement I have. I obviously have a lot of other credit facilities.
I am now about to turn 21, still stuck with the BMW and still on finance agreement.
Looking back now, I would never advise to start “adulthood” with a loan debt. I don’t regret it now, but I surely did when I was 18/19. Seeing the money going out of my bank account + insurance. Besides earning a very good salary as I was working for my family’s business.
Enjoy yourself now, get a credit card to build your credit for the future and live life. Don’t accumulate debt now.
