De-registering query

Hi, I've just de-registered as a sole trader with HMRC and am trying to file my final tax return for 2020-2021.  I clicked 'under £1000' and continued to fill the form in, now a review page has come up saying I have told them I was  'not self-employed' for 2020-2021 and I've not had to fill in any actual amounts at all anywhere except the interest I earned on my bank account.  Is that correct or has something gone wrong?  Is it simply because they don't class me as being self employed for last year due to the £1000 threshold?    Any advice appreciated.

It sounds like you deregistered yourself for 2020/21 rather than for 2021/22. If your turnover was less than £1,000 for 2020/21 it should not matter, unless you claimed SEISS grants, which might be affected.

Hi, thank you for your reply, I put the date 5th April 2021 as end of business.  I have a business account on Ebay so registered as a sole trader, last couple of years I've hardly sold anything, for 2020/21 turnover was around £200.

Did you claim SEISS? If not, don't worry about it.
