Hi everyone,
So I been unemployed for bit know.
I may have potentially found a job but
The agency am going through are going to either call or video chat me but they also asked me to have my Ni , proof address , p45 or 60 on hand Is this normal ?
Am a little hesitant because am not sure if this how agency work?
My thought was the agency would interview me and then I would go to the job am gonna work and give my details that way ?
If it helps am going through meridian business support to get warehouse job

Are you going to be employed through the company - so the agency are just doing the 'finding' but the company will hire you?
If you are employed by the agency then yes they will need to see your info. There is no reason why the company would need to see it as you are not working for them, they may request it from the agency.
If you are being employed through the company, the agency may want to see it before they put you forward to make sure all OK, you will then show again to the company.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....1 -
No, it's completely normal that the Agency handle your personal details especially if they, the agency does payroll/will be the ones paying you - they are kind of like an outsourced HR department function for the Employer client.
All you need to bother the "work place assigned" for is a signature on the timesheet to be paid. The ID is dealt with by the recruitment agency.1 -
Thank you both for answering my question ☺️ much appreciated. This was seriously bothering me 😅

No problem, My last placement at a mega massive well known factory - and a lot of the workforce had the recruitment agency high vis jackets on, once I went along for the first shift. (it was one of them you would never got on the companies direct payroll lets put it that way!) my last interviewer who was a direct employer said Agencies are just in it for the money but they can still get you a job.
Good luck
I'll be asking a crazy question in a mo!1 -
In normal times it's a face to face interview with the agency, taking along proof of ID, NI, entitlement to work in the UK. To overcome that now they do video calls.
The right agency can keep you going post to post, with a steady flow of work and money.
Good luck and agency interviews are always a lot easier than job interviews.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
It definitely easy, specialy that I really don't do well with interviews, so stressful. But hopefully things go well,
Am glad I asked, I feel at ease but the only things that's bothering me.
As I mentioned in other post, because I never seen this before. When they email you, there address is linked to like a tracker I'd, am assuming this is to notify them, that I have opened there email or read it?when you text them and they respond back with a answer, at the bottom it says [ A screenshot of a cell phone description automatically generated ] haven't clue what this means.
@Deleted User what crazy question you wanna ask ?0 -
That is alt text that gets automatically generated for pictures (text that gets read out for blind people using a screen reader). Maybe they are using some system that take a screenshot of incoming text messages so that they can see it on a computer system rather than having to keep checking a phone. Was there a pic of your original txt to them?1

Ok that's makes sense, am not following your last question? But it did say tap to load preview. That's for images or links ? Is that what you meanmoneysavinghero said:That is alt text that gets automatically generated for pictures (text that gets read out for blind people using a screen reader). As the image is not showing you are seeing the alt text. If you were to tap to load preview you would probably see an image of the txt message that you sent to them.1
