This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about
everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great,
inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old
Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already.
Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check
the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style
natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Good morning, another grey start here, yesterday stayed grey and damp all day, chilly as well.I went out yesterday morning, and the market was on, it's mainly a second hand market on a Saturday, but I'd gone for watch batteries, there's a man who is usually there. I was pleased to see that he was indeed there, and I had 3 watch batteries replaced and a new strap on one of them for £13, which I thought was pretty good. Called at Morries on the way home for bread and veg, so I wasn't out long. The rest of the day was just spent putting things away from our holiday, pottering, and washing, which I've dried inside. No particular plans for today, we had wondered about seeing Ds and family, but they live in an area where the Indian variant is rampaging, and we are advised not to go there unless it's essential.I've had an idea for a card so I'll try that I think, and probably a bit of ironing.Snoozer, I was very interested in the body mapping book you mentioned - I have great difficulty buying trousers that fit, and would make them but I'm never been sure about using standard patterns, I've never thought I would get a good fit.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can today, thinking of our poorly people. Gers didn't post yesterday so maybe something has happened there.Take care folks.13

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Dull and grey here too with showers forecast from lunchtime. Nothing new there then! Although yesterday, after a dismal morning, we actually saw blue sky and sunshine in the afternoon - still blooming cold though.
I managed my little bus trip to the next town along but the little market let me down! It's now reduced to the pie stall, a florist and a new clothes stall. Quite a few were looking at the clothes but I didn't bother. The f & v stall is no more sadly. It mustn't be worth their while setting up which is a shame as it did well in the lockdowns.
The usual boring Sunday here, although I do have a Tesco delivery due mid morning to ease the monotony. It's mostly fruit and veg and household stuff with nothing particularly exciting on the order.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies and poorly loved ones. I too noticed there was no update from GERS yesterday which made me wonder if there was something amiss. Much love is winging it's way to her. Take care one and all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -

Gers, if you manage to read this please accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your dear mother.9

Scarlet, the book I got is called Complete Guide to Fitting by Palmer and Pletsch. They also do a range about specific areas including one called Pants for Real People if you only want trousers. I don't know what that is like but the other is very comprehensive.

Morning all,Camelot thank you for passing the sad news on. Thinking of Gers & I know everyone on the Daily will be thinking of her at such a sad time. It's a dull day here. Nothing much planned after our busy day yesterday.DGS won the man of the match trophy so he was thrilled. We went to my brothers after to drop DN card, some books for them both and the photos. We didnt go in as they were off for their 2nd jab.DGS was being a bit shy, turns out he didn't remember DB & SisIL
which shows how long it is since the whole family got together.
The old suite was tipped after a struggle to get it out of the house and into the van- so heavy !, then the new to us one fetched which we're really pleased with,a bargain & very clean.Tea tonight, pork tenderloin in honey and garlic sauce, sticky toffee pud for after.Take care everyone x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
