Have a look at the Ford example in the above.

Has your scheme produced  a detailed guide as to how the partial transfer will be administered?

What is your scheme's position regarding appropriate advice?
Might be better for OP to talk to his own scheme - reading about another scheme often serves to confuse, because it is often not clear (especially to a novice) which parts are mandatory/statutory and which are scheme-specific.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Of course - what else would he do?

I was drawing his attention to the Ford example because it specifically states that appropriate advice must be taken and asking him to check his scheme's position.

It would appear to be exactly the same.

Wouldn't it be simpler to just point him towards his own scheme in the first place, rather than going round the houses with a link to the Ford example?

I asked him whether his company had produced a detailed guide - I should have thought that the inference would be drawn that he might find and read it?

No problems folks and I appreciate the interest......On a separate point, would it be reasonable to try and negotiate the IFA advice fee down based on a partial transfer? I appreciate the amount of work may be the same but surely the liability issue would be substantially reduced?
