Returning an Amazon Item

Options
I have no idea if this is the correct forum for this but I didn't know where else to ask.

I ordered something from Amazon, however, it was faulty so I got a replacement. I have to send the original item back within 30 days of the 3rd of May. I have to return it using a Hermes thing at a nearby Co-Op, however, I may only be able to return it on the 28th of May.

Will Hermes delivery it quickly enough to be within the 30 days limit if I send it on the 28th of May?

I would think you'd be ok with Amazon. I sent something back and I think they sent the refund as soon as it scanned and was in their system. If you've had your replacement already then I wouldn't worry.

The most they would do is re-charge you and then refund again when recieved.

That doesn't sound as bad as I thought. This has reminded me that it did say "may" charge the full amount again. I assume they won't be as strict as it first appears, especially with faulty items.

You can actually also arrange for Hermes to collect it from your home. That's what I usually do as I find it difficult to get to any other facility, including the Post Office. It hasn't cost me anything to return things I've bought from amazon or their amazon market place. Just select the option of having a parcel collected from your home and then they'll send you a label to print and you can arrange a home pick up.

    There's a link here - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GYTGE2BTKDQKTS6E

But you should be able to do it through your amazon order page. It makes life so much easier.
I've used the same thing with eBay, too.

Does anyone know how the Hermes Print In-Store thing works and who I will give the parcel to once I've printed the label? I've never used it before so I don't have a clue what I need to do.

You can ask a member of staff to do it for you or you just go to the machine, scan your barcode on your phone and it prints the label. Pop into your package and give to a member of staff.

Sounds simple then. And the 30 days thing for me to send makes more sense than it being 30 days for them to recieve it because otherwise the issue may end up being with Hermes which would be out of my control.

Had to return item as not as described. Same day.Used their returns procedure.

To take unlabelled to nearest pickup store. They sent me a barcode. For UPS.

I showed it to assistant, who scanned and popped item in to plastic bag. Refund/payment was actioned  by the time I returned home.

Never printed anything. To much trouble to print labels etc for Hermes.

Lots of local parcel drop offs.?

The only choice I seem to have on my Amazon account is this Hermes delivery system. I have to scan a QR code at the Co-Op which should print off a label.

I don't have lots of drop offs? No UPS only one Hermes or a post office thats a 30 minute walk away.
Its hardly too much trouble though to print a label that takes seconds.
