Coventry mortgage application

We submitted an application on Saturday for a DIP which referred and then was accepted, this was a hard search. We had the mortgage advice call today & paperwork will be in the post today. We just need to provide basic documents which will verify what we’ve stated. So can we assume all is good subject to valuation? 

Want to feel excited but it all still feels a bit uncertain! 

Also, Coventry have said offer can take 2-8 weeks which is a huge variation.

Anyone? 

Our buyers have had the valuation approved already and we haven’t even had paperwork yet! 

The Coventry seem a bit old fashioned compared to others? 

Has anyone had recent experience of them and what sort of timeline did they work to?

We are going with Coventry but through a broker. We spoke to the broker on Tuesday and he said they had put the valuation in and he was expecting information back "soon" We had a letter from coventry today confirming the application dated 18th (Tuesday) I also think they seem abit old fashioned but I mortgage broker advised us they would be slower than some of the bigger lenders. I saw on the awaiting decision thread some people are looking at around 18-21 days which is in line with the service level page for Coventry.

Thanks for reply. We still haven’t had paperwork but that’s more to do with Royal Mail now rather than Coventry. They’ve sent another copy to our local branch and I can collect on Monday so that will speed it up a bit!

In the meantime our buyers have had the valuation done and paperwork sorted in a week!

Still non the wiser where ours is! At the minute we are doing a Tuesday "round up" and calling everyone, MB included, for a status update. So will hope for an update then if not before!

Received paperwork today. Will return tomorrow and then cross fingers!

Update today. Valuation been has been done and it was confirmed at the same price we offered. Asked for our P60s though. So still progressing but no offer yet.

Well that’s good news. What proofs have you provided so far?

We had sent everything but P60s to our MB so that he could use them as they asked. 3 wage slips, ID marriage certificate, bank statements, details of current mortgage. Not sure if they asked for it all.

Arghh our sellers are putting pressure on as they want an end of June completion, ( they had a private offer from a cash buyer , less than we’ve offered but guaranteeing end of June),  but the Coventry are so slow that our application won’t even be on their system till next Tuesday 😬... should we approach a quicker lender? Or can we pressure the Coventry to move us up the queue? We’re existing customers.
