How soon can you draw down funds?

Hi all, does anyone know how far in advance you can draw down funds? I have five weeks till completion and have already exchanged. If my solicitor wanted to could they request funds in the next week or two. I am aware there is interest to pay but I am just curious

Depends on the lender, some want 5 days notice, others 2. You can't draw down the funds weeks in advance as solicitors can only keep them for a day or two before returning them, waiting for them to be credited back and then asking again for them.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • cant draw the funds until there is a property ready to be secured against.  Solicitors usually request funds the day before completion to avoid any delays on the day
