Natwest's Typo Caused Application To Be Rejected - What Now??
The time and frustration aside, I'm now concerned that my otherwise great credit is now damaged as I have had a mortgage application denied. I have an appointment next week with one of their advisors to do the next application, but am worried sick in the meantime that their error is going to make it difficult to get a mortgage. Has anyone had an experience with a lender error? Thanks in advance!

@cdp2879 Was it rejected at DIP or full application? When we do it as a broker the same DIP is progressed to a full application and addresses don't have to be keyed in again. And did you now re-run a DIP with the correct address to see if it passes?

Thanks for responding. It was full application stage. I had already done the DIP with no problems A new DIP also passed no problem (done on the phone with Natwest directly). She could see that all of the info I put it was correct, but at their end it was keyed in wrong (she used the "keyed in as 1 XXXX" phrase).K_S said:@cdp2879 Was it rejected at DIP or full application? @cdp2879 In all my years of broking, I can't say that a client has missed out on a mortgage due to having a single recent lender hard check on their credit report. You should be fine, especially if a new DIP has passed as well and has been done directly with NatWest. Hopefully they can progress the same DIP to a full app. Good luck!

All broker cases are retyped by NatWest onto another system. Don't know if the same happens to direct stuff.K_S said:@cdp2879 Was it rejected at DIP or full application? @K_S, you have no idea how happy that's made me to hear. I've been a nervous wreck. Fingers crossed it all goes well when I speak to them next week. Thank you!K_S said:@cdp2879 In all my years of broking, I can't say that a client has missed out on a mortgage due to having a single recent lender hard check on their credit report.
