Electoral roll at temporary address

Hello, I am new to the forum and after a bit of advice.
My husband and I recently sold our house and have moved in with family. We now have a mortgage offer from Halifax for our new house which is due to complete in four weeks (we have already exchanged). We were on the electoral roll for many years at our previous address and when we applied for our mortgage we were at that address. We have since moved to stay with family in the interim and although we have applied for electoral roll we have been told we won't appear till June 1st. I imagine this won't show on credit file until after completion.
Will this cause a problem if they decide to run a credit check when solicitor requests funds. We have updated our address with our credit companies so temp address may show before electoral roll does.

will our past history on electoral roll be factored in?

My main concern is the Halifax automated credit search. When it does appear on my credit report will I be removed from the old address and added to the new one immediately? So there would be no period of me not being on electoral roll. E.g will it say removed from electoral roll from x address and added to electoral roll at Y address at the same time?

Any advice from experts or anyone who has been in a similar scenario?

Just a quick note I informed Halifax of my new temporary address and they have since ran a credit check after i changed my address and also one a week or so later. Am I right in saying that if there were any discrepancies these would have been highlighted already as they would have ran the search at my updated address?

Sorry me again, just in addition to my previous queries. If on the off chance my credit file is updated and Halifax can see that I'm registered to temp address. Will the Halifax automated system flag up that i would have only been on it for a few days? Or will it take into account that I was on it for years at previous address too. Sorry for all the questions, it's just been a stressful time. Really hoping someone is able to help me 😔
  • I'm more or less in the same boat at the moment
  • I've been informed it shouldn't really matter but I'm no expert. Once I have further info I'm happy to advise. Best of luck :)
  • The only risk of updating your address and the lender rescoring it is if you moved to a house where the previous occupier shared your name and your date of birth and had bad credit.  So unless you have moved in with your twin sibling and you had really unimaginative parents so have the same name and they have bad credit then there isnt any risk.
People move all the time prior to purchase

Thank you so much for the reply, such a relief. Also I forgot to mention I have my parents sky tv and broadband set up under my name at their address. This will likely now show up on my credit file as a communications account now that I have added their address. Do you think this will cause an issue. Payments never been missed and no issues at all. Payments actually come out of my parents account but I just set it up.
