hi all, not sure if this is the right place to post this, however i will anyway.
ok heres the scenario:
yesterday i went to tesco shopping, on returning to my car it wouldnt start, i was gutted. so i went into tesco (customer services) and asked to borrow a yellow pages for a local mechanic to come out, she asked me what it was for, so i explained to her, and she told me because i was on tesco carpark, i didnt need to be a member of a breakdown service. the reason being they have a deal with rac which is, in return for letting rac sell their policies on their ground, they must offer assistance for customers in the shape of they fix your car or if not, they will take you and your car home. which was a godsend as i am not member of any break down organisation, however i have learnt my lesson and shall now be joining.
dont know if it will be of much use to anyone but i needed it and my car was fixed for free.

Does anyone know if any other stores (Asda, Safeway etc) have similar arrangements?0

Not sure if they offer the same service (but definately worth asking and mentioning that Tesco do) however Asda will send out someone to help in any way they can in you have a problem, I've seen them reinflating tyres and charging up batteries for customers in the past.
I'll move this thread over to anything else, hope you don't mind

Guess it's worth all true moneysavers to 'break-down' in Tesco's then, next time I break down might just ask the local garage to tow me to the nearest Tesco!!!2p off is still 2p off!0
