There is a difference between Planning Permission and Building Control. Normally most extensions/conservatories fall within permitted development rules. Building regulations are another matter, although in many cases conservatories are exempt provided they tick a few boxes. If you change an existing conservatory from a glazed roof to a solid roof you will have to comply with the certain structural requirements pertaining to support for the new solid roof even though you may be exempt from the other requirements contained within building regulations. At least that’s my understanding. This attachment goes into the detail.Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)0
