I did my apprenticeship at 36. So if I can do it at 36, you can do it at 30. You should be able to claim what was Working Tax Credit if its over 30 hours a week, that's what I did to top up apprentice pay. Nowadays I believe its rolled into Universal Credit.Yes it involved working for peanuts for a year BUT I was very fortunate that a position came up towards its end and while I still had to interview for it (no biggie), I suspect the fact I'd been doing it for a year already was probably what helped me get the permanent position.0
