Dental charges, can I choose better filling and pay partially

If I choose a high quality crown for my teeth, do I have to pay fully myself? Or I can pay partially which the rest are NHS payment.
Eg, NHS patient of dental can pay up to 200ish pounds , I don't know much about it.
Thanks

You cannot "top up" NHS fees for a better crown. You can either have a NhS crown and pay in full for that or a private crown and pay in full for that, you cannot just pay the difference.2

It does sound a sensible idea - but dentists can actually be charged with 'defrauding the NHS' if they are discovered offering such arrangementsHow to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
I see, so nobody should ask dentist for this, as it is a trap for the dentistToothsmith said:It does sound a sensible idea - but dentists can actually be charged with 'defrauding the NHS' if they are discovered offering such arrangements
