Personal tax account - second login needed?

My partner has recently tried to claim tax relief for working at home online via her personal tax account. However when doing so she receives a message stating she is unable to claim as has signed in with a business or agent government gateway ID.
We are a little confused. She did do some self employed work a few years ago and submitted tax returns (was also PAYE). However has been PAYE only for a few years now. Her tax account page looks identical to mine - many years ago I also did some self employed work and submitted returns. However I managed to claim online for this no problem.
We are wondering if she needs to create a second Government gateway ID, but this seems like duplication?
Tried calling HMRC who advised to complete a P87 for the expense and post. Doesn't really address the login/account status however and don't want to have to manually claim for things in the future.
Wondered if anyone has had experience or can shed any light?
Thanks

She should use her existing government ID to make the claim - it remains for life! I really don’t understand why she is getting that message.0

I think I'm on my third Government Gateway ID.....#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661

It's got to the point where she just have to write to them about the issue. We'd rather get the account sorted, no rush for the claim itself. However if it comes to it, may just have to create another ID.

I had to set up a personal one, as my old self-employed one was just for when I was S/E.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2
