Is it worth paying for mortgage advisor or any free options?

There are both fee charging and fee free.
The fee the broker charges does not necessarily dictate how good the broker is. However speaking from experience when I first started out, I had to take on loads of business in order to make a wage. Customers were just being processed and there was no real service provided.

If you live in an area with high house prices, then the need for a broker to charge is much lower than a broker that covers an area with low house prices.
Some of the "fees free" brokers (especially the online/direct ones) are usually fine for simple cases but fall apart when things get complicated or limits are being pushed. personal preference, I've used both and both were great. Both were whole of market AND not based in Estate agents. Both were word of mouth.
