AIP agreed in wife maidon name

Hi all, I'm recently just going through the process of moving home, me and my wife got married October 2019 but she hasn't changed her name on any of her driving licence/ bank / loans / passports etc due to covid delaying it.. The mortgage broker processed an AIP in her married name and it got declined but when he processed it through on her maiden name it got agreed. can we put the mortgage through on her maiden name or will the lender want everything changed over to her married name?

I asked my broker this question and it was established that a copy of the marriage certificate would suffice
  • At the moment her maiden name is still her legal name as per the passport.  No reason why the application cant be put through as such

If she hasn't changed her name for any other purpose, why would the lender want her to?

Believe it or not, a woman doesn’t have to take a mans last name! I know it’s crazy :)
