I bought a cheap one from Aldi: the 2 batteries I bought I use with other tools in the range. Probably wouldn't do some of you but for my terrace house garden it does fine. It's also handy to take down the allotment to do the edges and paths.

I don't think I'm ready to make the switch to EV for my lawn mower.  They are smooth, quiet and green but I'm worried about them running out, charging takes too long and the decent ones are very expensive.  And don't the batteries degrade over time?  Maybe in a few years.

I don't see them as any "greener" than using a standard electric mower powered from Solar PV with / without battery storage?

There's no cord to cut (who? me?) and no power down the allotment, so very handy. Also I can charge from my solar and cut at night. ;-)

Sorry I was referring to shinytop's comment.. Petrol down my allotment.. it usually needs quite a "beefy" machine to cut all the weeds ;)

I was trying to make a joke.  I was quoting all the usual objections to EVs and applying them to battery lawmow.....  Oh, never mind.

(that was another one btw  ;))
