IVA Settlement issues - unhelpful practitioner

Hi I wonder if anyone can help?
I’ve just come to my 3yr IVA anniversary. Due to a bereavement in the family my mum is in a position to offer a settlement £1k under what I should be paying back.
I’ve just come to my 3yr IVA anniversary. Due to a bereavement in the family my mum is in a position to offer a settlement £1k under what I should be paying back.
I sent an offer letter to the IVA company in Feb. They STILL haven’t approached creditors. I’ve asked to be updated but I’m having to continually chase them. The last update I had was about two wks ago that they are now putting an offer to creditors. However my mum received a letter Friday saying they couldn’t validate her ID and no offer would be made until she had her passport verified. This has further delayed the process. They seem to be making excuse after excuse as to why they can’t make the offer yet. It’s causing me an undue amount of stress. I’m mostly annoyed at their lack of contact and information on the process. If they emailed me what they needed initially it would have all been done within a wk. Has anyone experienced this or know what my rights are? It will be 3mths since I made the offer before it even gets to creditors!

Well your depriving them of their fee`s for the remainder of your arrangement, so don`t expect anything to move quickly.
IVA companies move at a snails pace anyway, as does anything debt related, keep pestering them is all I can suggest.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
