The most likely change to the automatic enrolment pension rules at Budget would be an announcement around the timing to:

• Increase minimum contribution, probably to 12% (6% employee, 6% employer)
• Start qualifying earnings from £0 
• Reduce the age at which automatic enrolment applies, probably to 18

If opted-out of an employer scheme, there is zero reason to wait until October to opt-in. The sooner the better.

Beware when you get to retirement age and want to take out your money. If your employer has chosen a cheap pension provider dont expect it to go smoothly. There is always the Pensions Ombudsman to go to once you've exhausted all the company's internal complaints procedures.
