Repossession 2 years ago

Hi,
Around 3 and half years ago myself and my wife split up. She stayed in the house and I continued to pay half the mortgage. However unknown to me at the time she did not. The house was repossessed just over 2 years ago and the amount showing outstanding is 24,000. I've had no correspondence from the mortgage company. The only reason I know that amount is it shows on my credit file. They have got my current address.
I'm wondering how this will go, I accept I'm responsible for half the amount however my ex wife will not pay anything.will the mortgage company split the amount equally between us and I can agree a payment for my half or will they insist I pay it all. It was in joint names.

There is no 'half'. You're each responsible, jointly and severally, for the full amount.

The lender will seek to get the full amount in whichever way they can.
