Redundancy, finding new job & feeling down

Got made redundant from my retail job at the end of February. Signed on so I'm receiving the benefits I'm entitled to, but really worried about the future. It's been 2 months. I've registered with various agencies who have just mucked me around. I'm now mainly looking for office or warehouse work as I cannot work with the public anymore. Luckily my tenancy for my flat doesn't expire until March next year but when it comes up to expiry, they will want 3 months of wage slips to prove I can still afford the rent. If I haven't got a job by the and still on benefits I won't be able to do this and may lose my flat and be homeless. I've attended interviews, check social media everyday, job sites. Trying so hard but feel like I'm getting nowhere.

You don't renew your tenancy agreement, just let it go onto a rolling contract, plenty of info on the house buying and renting board.

Have you been asking and receiving feedback for the interviews you attend?

All you can do is keep applying, make sure your CVs are specific to each job, keep chasing agencies and eventually you will land a job.

It's been 2 months.  (We are only just coming out of the most limiting circumstances for job seeking and that is not something to worry about.)  I've registered with various agencies who have just mucked me around. I'm now mainly looking for office or warehouse work  (Do you have experience in these types of work?) as I cannot work with the public anymore (When applying, what do you say is your reason for wanting to work in an office or in a warehouse?). Luckily my tenancy for my flat doesn't expire until March next year but when it comes up to expiry, they will want 3 months of wage slips to prove I can still afford the rent.  (If they did want to see those even when you had been paying your rent regularly, then it shouldn't matter where the money is originating - wages or benefits or a mixture.)  If I haven't got a job by the and still on benefits I won't be able to do this and may lose my flat and be homeless. I've attended interviews (getting an interview is good - perhaps you need practice in handling them), check social media everyday, job sites. Trying so hard but feel like I'm getting nowhere.
I know it can be dispiriting when things are taking time.  However there will be more jobs out there.

I'm sorry you are having a difficult time.  Try not to worry too much about your tenancy - your landlord can't force you into a new lease, the existing one can go on to a rolling monthly tenancy and if not, it will take a whole for them to evict you if they decide that's the route they want to go down.  If you haven't been able to find a new job by the time the current fixed term is coming to an end, make sure you read up here and on the Shelter website so you are clear about your rights and options. Plus, at that stage you'll be able to show that you've been successfully paying the rent for 11 months even without having payslips, which hopefully will allay any concerns that they might otherwise have.

You're job hunting in a very difficult climate so while its easier said than done, try nor to let it get you down. on the plus side, I think that employers are much less likely to see it an an issue if you've been out of work for a few months as they are are of the current climate, then they might in a better economic climate.

I can see that yo don't want to work directly with the public - do you see that as being a permanent choice or is it Covid related? Would it extend to being unwilling to consider remote but public-facing work such as customer service / call centre work? What about office work such as reception where you would be public-facing but not having the same challenges as you have with retail work? (I'm suggesting these possibilities as they are roles where the skills learned through your retail work are likely to be relevant, so you may have a better chance than with jobs in a field which is completely new to you.

In the current climate 2 months is a short time to be looking for work.  Add to that the desire/need to move to a different sector and it's really not surprising that you haven't found anything yet.  Do not become despondent as that can show through when you do get interviews.
