Hard search before completion

looking for some reassurance as always! So a hard search has been done on my credit file for a buy now pay later scheme thing, which we were looking into for some furniture. We had no intention of doing this until we moved in but they did a quotation search which I thought would be a soft search but it has come up as a hard search. We haven't taken finance out or anything and won't be, it's just that one search. At first I was like its fine but now I'm starting to panic!

Will it affect the mortgage application being withdraen in anyway?

I’m not sure what the percentage of lenders do a pre completion check and it’s probably dependant on lots of factors in individual cases. If you’ve not taken the finance out then all they would see is the quotation search. We were with HSBC and they only checked us once at app stage, I wouldn’t panic but I certainly wouldn’t take any credit out before you complete just to be sure x
