hello. I have moved into a new build property, which has been banded at G. Since researching other similar properties in my area, i have found a large number of similar or larger properties in bands E and F. The valuation officer has advised me to submit evidence of 15 that are the same size, within a 2 mile radius. Can anyone tell me how or where i can find out the square meter of these other properties please? The VOA will not provide this information to me (data protection). any properties not the same will be discounted. Has anyone else made a successful challenge of this kind?

There is no register of property sizes. Just submit the addresses of 15 properties you think are the same size or larger and are the same type as yours and are in lower bands. The VOA can easily check the details.
Do be aware that the CT band of a property cannot be increased where there has been an extension carried out by the current owner since it was first banded. This may explain why some are in lower bandsIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1
