My partner has been granted leave from work. Filling in an application asking for employer address as will contact them. Can my partner assume therefore they will know what benefit has been applied for? Understanding was HMRC would inform DWP on earnings. Unable to get anything due to savings
Thanks
Thanks

ThanksFor your partner to be able to claim carers allowance the person they are caring for needs to claim a qualifying benefit of either PIP daily living, DLA mid/high rate care or Attendance Allowance. https://www.gov.uk/carers-allowance/eligibilityThe employer won't know what benefit has been applied for.

The form doesn’t say they will contact the employer. If the evidence requested in Part 10 is included then I don’t see that there is any need for them to do so.
Would it matter if the employer knew anyway.
Note that when calculating CA entitlement earnings are projected forwards. If your partner was earning over the threshold and is paid monthly there will be a gap between when she starts the leave and when she becomes eligible for CA.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Having just looked through the carers allowance form, i can't see anywhere where it specifically states this. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/952683/ds700-carers-allowance-form.pdfAs has been advised, if you send payslips as proof of earnings there would be no need to contact any employer.

Nor could I when I looked (which I did before posting). However, it occurs to me, perhaps OP is doing the claim online and that is different! OP, if that is the case, does the online process ask you to send copies of payslips etc (which the paper version does)?poppy12345 said:Buzzard1985 said:Ask for employers details to contact them.Employer details

Yes was online and never asked for payslip just amount .
Privacy re the employer. Partner work is a small family business. She doesn't like them knowing what they don't need to.
