Should I use my Help to buy or add it to my deposit?

First time clueless buyer here.
Houses in my area are dear to say the least.
I have an 75k deposit and a separate 10k in a help to buy isa from that old government scheme.
I work two jobs. One of them has an income that fluctuates.
I don't really understand the help to buy ISA and I've heard a lot of negatives about it. Should i use it for what it was intended for or use it to boost my deposit to 85k?
I would be looking at houses in the 280-320k range. Not necessarily a new build.
Plan on upgrading within 10 years.

Thanks for your help.
