Bonuses prior to IPA set-up

I'm still waiting for my IPA to be set up can I spend my bonuses?

You need to inform your OR of any changes so e mail them with the details

Don't spend the bonuses unless you get the all-clear.

If you are honest and upfront, you might get lucky and be allowed to keep the bonuses. But if you don't let them know and they find out, you could get into trouble.  For me personally, the worry about being found out would outweigh any pleasure I'd get from spending the money.

Surely a bonus is just salary which can been spent until IPA is set-up

Yes, but the IPA is based on your average salary, isn't it?  A bonus would take your pay over the average. 

Why the hurry to spend it - surely it would make more sense to be sure that the bonus money is "safe"?
